Whilst not pet-friendly, they do welcome assistance animals and offer a 'Welcome Pooch Pack” available for cabins including large plush bed, bowls, waste bags, padded dog lead and a kibble feeder
The resort offers a veritable smorgasbord of Airlie Beach accommodations from hotel-style studios right through to luxurious, magnificently appointed 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and apartment-style condos. All cabins are self-contained giving you the convenience of being able to easily whip up a meal and are beautifully designed with open space and their own tropical garden, exuding a comforting home away from home feeling for your Whitsunday holiday.
The two-bedroom premium cottages are perfect for a large family or grandparents staying too, sleeping up to 6 guests. The cottages offer an accessible friendly bedroom with a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a king-size bed with a set of single bunks. They have 2 full bathrooms with one bathroom fully accessible with a roll-in shower, shower seat and grab rails for the shower and toilet. The cottage comes with an undercover carport with a wheelchair ramp to a spacious veranda with an outdoor setting for 6. Fully self-contained kitchen with oven and dishwasher along with a washing machine and dryer. The open plan deluxe studios sleep up to 5 guests with a queen-sized bed (curtain divides the open plan style cabin), and a set of single bunks with trundle. The family can spend hours on the BIG, HUGE, MEGA waterslide park and in their heated pool through winter (the biggest in Airlie Beach). Then you can choose from tennis, mini-golf, water slides, pedal karts, Kids Club, outdoor movies, poolside massages, their Animal Park… the list goes on.

An amazing feature unique to the property is their Autism Friendly Sensory Room. BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort’s sensory room has all the features you would expect to find in an autism-specific educational setting and they also provide guests who are planning to use the room with a special Social Script, allowing the family to explain what their child can expect on their holiday. The lovely crew at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort understand that children with autism can become very unsettled on holidays, away from the safety and comfort of their own home and belongings. Sometimes they travel for long hours in the car, through unfamiliar surroundings, unable to move about and calm themselves.
Features in ‘The Reilly Room’ include a large free-standing hammock which can be used to rock a toddler or for a full-sized adult to rock themselves and is large enough to wrap around a child-like a safe cocoon or ‘hidey hole’. There is also a large crash mat and weighted blankets/cushions for those particular children who are soothed by pressure. A lamp projects lovely blue ocean waves on the ceiling and a music player provides calming music to soothe the rawest of nerves. There is a collection of cushions providing a variety of tactile experiences, such as vibrating, fluffy and sequinned cushions. There is a ‘Bilbo’ to rock or spin a child in, a peanut-shaped gym ball to bounce on and a large timer clock to help them ‘finish’. The room also has a sensory toy box full of motivating toys to fascinate and calm children. Other activities include kinetic sand, play dough, colouring and drawing. For guests who would like access to ‘The Reilly Room’ during their stay, it is accessible with a key which you may keep for the duration of your stay to use as needed. The facility is set up for use by one family at a time for the comfort and benefit of the user. An ‘occupied’ sign highlights when the room is being used so whoever is ‘settling’ will not be interrupted.

At BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, they have accessible amenity rooms and camp kitchens for campers and five accessible cabins for those wishing to treat themselves. They have over 15 on-site activities with many of these being wheelchair-accessible such as the Outdoor Movie area, Animal Park, Kids Club and much much more.
There are many wheelchair-accessible tours to the Whitsunday Islands and locations like the local Lagoon in Airlie Beach, speak with their friendly team for more information. The is no beach matting or beach wheelchair at Airlie Beach but Airlie Beach Lagoon located on the foreshore has a pool hoist. This is operated by the lifeguards.
