Great Southern Hotel Melbourne Accessible Accommodation is located in the heart of Melbourne has two different types of accessible rooms, one of which has the option of a mobile hoist!

There are four Accessible Triple Rooms. Three of these rooms are located adjacent to each other on Level 3, while the fourth is located on Level 2. Each Accessible Triple Room is configured with one king-size bed and one single bed, accommodating up to three guests. The king-size bed can be split into two single beds, providing flexible bedding arrangements to suit individual guest requirements. All four Accessible Triple Rooms also have sufficient space for a rollaway bed, allowing accommodation for a fourth guest when required (but this will limit wheelchair movement)..

An additional accessible Superior King Room, accommodating up to two guests, is located adjacent to the Accessible Triple Room on Level 2. As this room has a different configuration from the four Accessible Triple Rooms, it is not available for online booking and can be reserved upon request by contacting the property directly. This room has the option of a mobile hoist (available on request) with great space for a wheelchair user. (See video tour).

The hotel welcomes guests with a wide range of accessibility requirements and aims to provide a comfortable and inclusive stay for guests with mobility, sensory, cognitive or other accessibility needs.

Located on Spencer Street, the hotel is close to Southern Cross Station and Melbourne's interstate train and coach terminals, with tram and public transport services nearby. The location provides convenient access to many of Melbourne's major attractions, including Crown Melbourne, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Marvel Stadium and Southbank.

Guests who have specific requirements relating to their room location, bedding configuration, mobility equipment, communication, sensory environment or other aspects of their stay are encouraged to contact the property directly before arrival. Early check-in is available for an additional $30.00 prior to 10:00 am. After 10:00 am, early access is subject to room availability.

Late check-out is available for an additional $35.00 until 1:00 pm. Day-use rates apply after 1:00 pm. Guests requiring a late check-out should contact Reception by 10:00 am on the day of departure.

The Great Sunrise Breakfast is available for AUD $20.00 per person, served daily from 7:00 am to 10:30 am.

Each plated breakfast includes bacon, eggs, sausages, hash browns, tomato, tinned mushrooms and baked beans. A self-service selection of toast, cereal, canned fruit, fresh seasonal fruit, mini croissants, pancakes, yoghurt, coffee, tea and juice is also available.

Guests with accessibility requirements relating to the breakfast service are encouraged to speak with hotel staff for assistance.

On-site hotel parking is available for AUD $30.00 per car per night and AUD $20.00 per motorcycle per night.

The hotel does not have designated accessible parking spaces. Covered parking is very limited and subject to availability, with a maximum vehicle height of 1.95 metres. Parking reservations are not available.

Guests with mobility requirements are encouraged to contact the property prior to arrival to discuss the most suitable arrival and drop-off arrangements.

Vehicles are parked at the owner's risk, and the hotel assumes no responsibility or liability for damage to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.

Great Southern Hotel Melbourne's central CBD location provides convenient access to a range of Melbourne attractions and activities suitable for guests with limited mobility, including guests who use walking sticks, walking frames, wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is located nearby on Flinders Street and is particularly well suited to visitors with limited mobility. All general admission exhibits are accessible to wheelchair users, with lifts or ramps providing access between levels and seating available throughout the attraction. Accessible toilets are available, and a limited number of wheelchairs can also be borrowed from the admissions area. Companion Card holders may be eligible for complimentary carer admission. Marvel Stadium, located near Southern Cross Station, hosts AFL matches, concerts and major entertainment events. The stadium provides wheelchair-accessible seating and accessible routes to the concourse, including lift and ramp access. Guests requiring accessible seating are encouraged to make arrangements with the venue or authorised ticketing provider when booking.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) at South Wharf hosts exhibitions, conventions, performances and public events throughout the year. MCEC has achieved Accessible Tourism accreditation for Limited Mobility and provides accessible entrances and facilities, wheelchair-accessible spaces, wheelchair loans and a Changing Places facility for visitors with high support needs.
