Accessible Accommodation will be introducing three additional tiers for accessibility. They are:

Hearing Assisted

Vision Assisted

Sensory Assisted (Autism).

We invite any person with a disability or a family member with lived experience who can provide input as to what the unique requirements are for those with Vision, Hearing and Sensory Disabilities.

For example:

-Sensory play areas

-Deafgard

-High Contrasting furnishings.

Our current three tiers have been embraced by people with disabilities and tourism operators alike, as a way to identify amenities meeting the unique mobility needs. There are:

–Assisted Wheelchair User – Guests unable to lift themselves. Requires assistance of a support person or equipment.

–Independent Wheelchair User – Wheelchair users who can self-transfer to bed, shower and toilet.

–Assisted Walking – Walking Frame or Cane Users. Some accessible amenities would come in handy.
