7 On Merindah Coochiemudlo Island Accessible Accommodation is a brand new 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms accessible Island family retreat. Catering to the highest mobility needs, 7 on Merindah has a hoist, electric bed, commode and much more. Extra-large bedrooms, purpose-built chair user bathroom, and kitchen with an opening under sink and stove for chair user accessibility and, it is pet friendly too! Enjoy a relaxing island break and embrace the bay and bush. Exclusive to Accessible Accommodation followers, the home is ideal for families or small groups.
Terms: When booking, select 4 nights you wish to stay, and you will only be charged for 3. Must take place on the one booking, valid 1st May to 31st of August 2024

7 On Merindah at Coochie is only an eight-minute ferry or car barge ride from Victoria Point and 35 km from Brisbane CBD. An ideal combination, with the serenity of the island being close to Brisbane. You now have the convenience of Woolworths doing deliveries twice weekly for meals. The home has been purpose-built for wheelchair access, accessible living, people requiring walking aids, families, couples, and singles. 7 On Merindah is a new 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with an undercover carport, wheelchair ramp, and two decks for you to sit on and enjoy. The kitchen has also been purpose-built with a room under the sink and stove for a wheelchair to glide under. Purpose-built main bathroom, wide hallways and 2 extra-large bedrooms for easy wheelchair manoeuvrability and space for the kids to enjoy. The main bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. The third bedroom has one single electric hospital-style bed (side rails on one side, the other side against the wall) and another single bed that can be reconfigured into a queen or into two single beds. The electric bed can have a pressure care mattress on request. All bedrooms have built-in cupboards, two-way lights, and bedside tables with reading lamps. All bedrooms and living areas are equipped with ceiling fans, with the lounge and two of the bedrooms controlled by remotes. Reverse cycle air conditioners are also installed in two bedrooms and the lounge room. On the lower deck, there is a BBQ available for use with a 6-seater outdoor table setting. The ramp connects to the upper deck and outdoor lounge. Enjoy the filtered sunlight, read a book, or just have a snooze and relax. Fresh linen and towels are supplied, including start-up, shampoo, and conditioner as well as day-to-day condiments such as milk, coffee, tea, sugar, salt pepper and oil. Toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, dishcloths, tea towels, insect coils and fly spray are also supplied.

Dogs are welcome however the property is not fully fenced. Please provide a dog bed and bowl as dogs are not allowed on the furniture. A pet bond is required.

If it's been a few years since you visited Coochie, you are in for a surprise, with all roads now sealed, and paved pathways. Perfect for rolling on. Coochiemudlo Island is only 5 sq kilometres in size making it ideal to walk, ride or drive around the island. Having only a few hilly inclines the island is relatively flat, so riding, rolling and walking are excellent as the roads are bitumen to make chair movement easier. At the end of the road, there is a concrete pathway leading to the beach, park, pontoon, and restaurants. The paved walkways also suit chair users enabling everyone to go down to the beach and enjoy the parklands, kids playground and free BBQs. The beach is a bayside non-surf beach. Coochiemudlo Island boasts 4 kilometres of clean safe beaches, but the beaches aren't currently wheelchair accessible. The three sandy beaches, Norfolk, Morwong and Main beach are only a lovely 5-minute roll away in an electric wheelchair. Great for the kids and family to play cricket, football, kayak, fish, and swim or sit and enjoy the bay views. There is also a leash-free dog beach area on the western main beach for your pooch to enjoy (not currently accessible). Curlew Café is located on the main beach near the Coochie ferry terminal. You can grab a coffee, breakfast, burger or lunch and they also have a few household and food supplies should you need them. The café is open every day from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm and on the occasional Friday night. Click HERE for more info. For a cold beer and wine head to The Coochiemudlo Beach bar and enjoy Kev’s craft-brewed beer and great bar menu. Sip on a cold drink and enjoy the bay views. You can also enjoy a pizza to eat in or take away. The beach bar is open from Thursday to Sunday from 11.00 am to 8.00 pm. Click HERE for more information. Both Curlew café and the beach bar cater to everyone and are family-friendly and a great place to meet up with friends. If not eating out, please remember to bring all your food and household supplies for your stay, as there is no supermarket. The good news is Woolworths do deliver online orders 3 days a week. Cancellation policy
Booking Conditions and Cancellations: All reservations require full payment or payment confirmation from a plan manager at the time of booking. Bookings become non-refundable 90 days from check in although they are transferrable to alternative dates at the same property. New dates booked must be of equal or higher monetary value. For changes made to bookings within 7 days of check in a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking cost will be charged. We do not offer refunds or reschedule bookings due to weather events, traffic delays or natural disasters. You are encouraged to take out travel insurance to cover such events. No refunds will be given for late arrivals, early departures or unused days of your holiday rental period. Any changes or cancellations must be made via email to bookings@theaccessiblegroup.com
Damages & Repairs:
You will be charged at cost to repair or replace items if there is malicious, deliberate, or negligent damage to the property. You become financially responsible for any and all damage and loss to the property and its contents from the date and time you check in, to the date and time you check out. To avoid blame, you are required to immediately notify us if anything is amiss when you arrive at the property.
Cleaning:
The house will be cleaned prior to your arrival. Please keep it clean and leave it how you found it including furniture placement, if excessive cleaning is required over and above a standard clean upon your departure, you will be charged the cost.
Smoking:
No smoking inside the property under any circumstances If you need to smoke, please do so away from the property doors to ensure that the smoke does not enter. If evidence of smoking inside the property is detected, you will be charged for steam cleaning of rugs, lounge suites and furniture, laundering of all soft furnishing and linen, plus replacement of linen where necessary.
No Party Policy:
We have a strict ‘no party’ policy. Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If there is, or is evidence of a party/function, you will be asked to vacate the property and charged for any non-standard cleaning and damages to the property.
Pets:
We’re dog lovers too. If your dog is well behaved, and poop collected, we’d love to have them stay! If you plan to bring your puppy dog, please seek approval by email to bookings@theaccessiblegroup.com prior to booking. We will request a pet bond, which will be refunded in full if there’s no damage or additional cleaning required (including pet hair and poop).
