You’ll need longer than a weekend to explore all the accessible activities around Diamond Beach. Located in tranquil Diamond Beach, Seafarers holiday home is perfectly situated a short 6-minute stroll to the beach. Arrive at your easy access on-site disabled parking to be personally greeted by Dianne the owner, and roll past the pool on the extra-wide concreted paths ramp access.
Owners Dianne and Chris are thoughtfully supportive of people with disabilities. In fact, they’ve recently invested in a pool lift to make your stay even more memorable. The pool is privately situated, located within easy view of the house, situated next to both the BBQ area and wheelchair accessible outdoor cabana. Plus the house is securely fenced for your kids and 4 legged friends.
Enjoy breakfast on the patio using the fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher situated low for wheelchair users to create a feast.
On cooler days, the comfy living areas offer free WIFI and an electric lift leather lounge chair. Or, snuggle in bed with luxury linens and electric blankets. Accommodating 6 guests, there are three bedrooms supported by two bathrooms. The main bathroom offers the vitally important accessible features such as a roll-in shower with an adjustable shower hose, suction cup grab bars & shower chair. A glide under vanity as well as handrails around the loo, all ensuring independence and comfort.
Should you bring a Carer with you, they’ll be well catered for too. There is a unique Carers Suite now also available. A large, comfortable bedroom and sitting area, coffee station, tv, ensuite bathroom and private entrance. Seafarers Diamond Beach is wonderfully dog-friendly too. Your 4 legged pal is most welcome inside and outside the house, with dog bowls and Bliss bean bags to snooze on. The secure fully fenced yard to keep them safe when you choose to explore the accessible activities nearby. Furthermore, the beach nearby is pet-friendly 24/7! Whale watching and Dolphin spotting are a” must do” activity on your to-do list. Humpback whale migration season is early June to late November. Onboard Amaroo Cruises, their wheelchair accessible 24m catamaran, the skipper and crew take particular care to ensure guests in wheelchairs get a good view of the wonderful whales. Sunday Sippers at the Surf Club – is held every Sunday at 3 pm at accessible Black Head Surf Club. A social, fundraising activity for the surf club, you’re sure to enjoy the relaxing, friendly atmosphere and stunning views north over the beach and bay whilst appreciating a cold drink. Movies at Great Lakes Cinema 3, Tuncurry. An everchanging range of international and national films are shown at this fully accessible building. The cinemas also offer electronic assistance for people with hearing difficulties or who have hearing aids. For more information click HERE.
Nabiac Farmers Markets – held on the last Saturday of every month at Nabiac Showground. This is a delightful way to spend the morning at this accessible venue. For more information click HERE.
Dianne and Chris, the owners of Seafarers recommends the following beautiful path walks and wheelchair cruising.
1/Black Head Lagoon –a delightful pathway along the Black Head lagoon, under the trees past the picnic tables and BBQs, past the children’s playground and along and up to the surf club and ocean swimming pool.
2/The Tuncurry Break Wall – Follow the pathway along the Tuncurry waterside, past the fishing boats and private moorings, up to the Rockpool cafe and swimming beach. Then head along and out to the end of the Tuncurry break wall.
3/Forster Tuncurry bridge – From the Tuncurry side of the Forster Tuncurry bridge, head over the bridge, pausing along the way to admire the view and spot some of the resident dolphins. Continue into the main street shopping centre of Forster or up to Main Beach for a coffee or bite to eat at Beach Bums Café (More info HERE ). Or, turn left just off the bridge and follow the path out along the Forster break wall.
4/Wallis Lake foreshore – Pathway follows the edge of Wallis Lake, past some of the boatsheds and finishing at the netted lake pool and boat launching ramp.
Return to Seafarers accessible accommodation with a pool lift, and take a dip in the tropical pool.
