Wheelchair Accessible Apartments. How many apartments are there for rent worldwide? Who knows, and how many of those apartments are wheelchair accessible apartments? Well that depends on what level you anticipate for an apartment to be wheelchair accessible. On our site we have three classifications for wheelchair accessible apartments and properties ranging from E1 to E3, and whilst it is possible to have an apartment which does not have full accessible features it can still be classified as a wheelchair accessible apartment as it fits in with our and a holidaymakers requirement.
It may be that a wheelchair can pass through the front door and manoeuvre to the most used and important parts of the “ wheelchair accessible apartment “ including the hallway the lounge, the bedroom the kitchen and the bathroom.
With a growing expectation that holiday accommodation reaches certain levels, after all, even though you are on holiday you still want and expect at least the standard of living and accommodation that you have at home, and in maintaining a level of expectation many owners of holiday rental accommodation will constantly be aware of the need to maintain their property and to maximise the returns on their investment by renting the property out.
One area of rental that is growing is a wheelchair accessible apartment and usually with a little effort and expenditure a wheelchair accessible apartment can be created from a standard apartment, via the introduction of wheelchair accessible ramps and doorways and maybe slight adaptations to a bathroom to make it more usable to a wheelchair user.
But very often most of the changes required are not necessarily of benefit just to the wheelchair users, but the extra feeling of space and the ease of which a wheelchair accessible apartment can be used by families and every body else often means that the property owner gets a better quality of apartment to rent out and often at a slightly better rental rate and the user of the wheelchair accessible apartment, gets a better quality of holiday accommodation.
