About Us
The aim of Crathie Opportunity Holidays (Scottish Charity No: SC027590) is to make it possible for everyone to be able to find suitable accommodation of the highest standard to enable them to enjoy a holiday in this most beautiful part of Scotland.
For many years the 200 year old stable courtyard situated on the banks of the River Dee and overlooking the Balmoral Estate lay derelict. In 2002 as a result of five years of fundraising by local volunteers these fine old granite buildings were transformed into four expertly designed self catering cottages.
The planning for these cottages focussed on two intensely held principles:
The accommodation should be of a standard to match the best in self catering cottages.
The cottages should be designed so that there should be no barriers to occupancy by disabled guests.
The buildings have therefore been sensitively restored externally to retain many of the original features of the stables. Internally they have been designed to ensure maximum accessibility and equipped to offer the most extensive range of fixtures and free standing aids to enable disabled guests to experience their holiday with confidence.
Our staff will be on hand to give you a warm welcome and offer any advice or information you may require during your stay.
