Two 18th century town house apartments,, recently restored and fully air conditioned. One apartment is on the ground floor and opens onto a small courtyard. This apartment is wheelchair friendly and has two bathrooms, one of which has been specially designed for wheelchair use. The other apartment is on the upper two floors and has balconied windows and a large roof terrace with spectacular views over Ortigia's rooftops and a glimpse of the sea.

Apartment 1 (Upper floors) Sleeps 2/4 (1 Bedroom)
Bedroom with double bed. En-suite bathroom to bedroom, with bath/shower, wc, bidet. En-suite to living room shower, wc, bidet. Hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, toaster, microwave, washing machine. Living room, two balconies, double sofa bed, TV/dvd player with adjacent bathroom. Large roof terrace, with sun umbrella table with 4 chairs, barbecue, hand basin.
Apt 2 Ground Floor (Sleeps 2/4, 2 Bedrooms)
Shorter lets on the ground floor. In response to many requests for shorter lets ie. weekends or 2/3 days we have made the ground floor more flexible by dividing it into letting possibilities. 1) A double bedroom. separate kitchen/ diner and bathroom designed for wheelchair users 2) A one double bedroom en-suite bathroom,with tea and coffee facilities Or the whole ground floor can be rented .
Notes on accommodation The apartments are newly furnished, air conditioned / heated and within walking distance of the sea and restaurants. The ground floor is suitable for children and a small cot can be provided
Accessibility The apartment could be suitable for handicapped visitors as there is a bathroom designed for wheel chair users, wide entrance doors, a small outdoor patio in the summer and parking nearby
Outside Apartment 1 (Upper floors) has a large private terrace overlooking the rooftops with table, chairs and an umbrella, glimpses of the sea. Apartment 2 2 (Ground Floor) has a small patio/courtyard.
Coast/Beach Ortigia is surrounded by the Mediterranean and there is some bathing from rocks there but the best beaches are a short drive out of town, 15 minutes to Isola or 30 minutes to the sea-side resort town of Fontana Bianci.
Travel The nearest airport is Catania, 45 minutes by car, there is also a bus service from the airport to Ortigia. Car hire is not essential as everything on Ortigia is within walking distance and public services are very good.
Distances The apartments are in the town of Siracuse in the historic district of Ortigia, the baroque town of Noto ia about 30 minutes drive away.
Further details The fruit and fish market is just a few minutes away, fresh and cheap local produce every day except Sunday, local bakers sell many varieties of bread and delicious cakes. There are banks and ATM machines nearby. The siesta break is strictly observed from 1pm to 4pm and then shops are open until 8. Cafes and restaurants are of course open at this time and in the evening serve at least until midnight.
Towels and bed linen included once a week, more frequent changes by arrangement.
